Greenlord Studios celebrates its 5th birthday

5 Years Old Today

It's hard to believe, with everything else going on, that Greenlord Studios celebrates 5 years of business today. 5 years spent developing, growing, adapting, and evolving. 5 years, and we are still going strong.

It is slightly surreal being able to say we have been open for this long. According to the Office for National Statistics, more than 50% of businesses fail within their first 5 years. In that time, however, we have not only survived, but flourished. We have hired on 4 developers since starting, 2 of which we hired this year alone. We have had a number of interns, and are still looking for developers now. To be able to more than double the size of the team since we opened our doors in 2016 is something we are exceptionally proud of.

For 5 years, we have been working on all manner of projects, from the small to the massive. We have had the good fortune of working with some fantastic clients, such as Durham University or The Great Run Company, and we have so many exciting projects lined up for the next few years.

In our history, Greenlord has had struggles to deal with and obstacles to overcome, as any small business will. We've had projects fall through, we've had work droughts, and of course, we have had to deal with a worldwide pandemic and a transition to working remotely. Whenever these issues have arisen, the team have done a fantastic job of figuring out how best to tackle them. I am amazed at the flexibility and ability to adapt of this company, and know we'll be able to tackle problems head on, whenever they arrive.

For such a big birthday, it is a shame that we aren't able to celebrate properly. There are currently plans for a party in the middle of next month, where we are hoping to invite some of the many people who have helped us get to where we are today. Organising something like this is somewhat difficult currently, so hopefully we are able to host something we are proud of. In the meantime, the team are planning a quiet get together to celebrate and pat ourselves on the back.

All in all, I cannot believe what Greenlord has become in these past 5 years, and I wouldn't begin to guess at what it might be in another 5 years time. I am constantly impressed by what we do, and I'm so proud of us.

Thank you for reading, and thank you to everyone who has helped us along the way. Whether you've given us advice, worked with us, or offered support, thank you.
Liam
