Our 2020

Friday 18th December 2020 Liam McElroy News and Updates

Today is the last day of work for us at Greenlord Studios for the year, so it is once again time for our retrospective. This year has been a challenge for everyone, but I feel we have done well with the circumstances.

It goes without saying, but Covid and lockdowns have had a huge impact on how we ran the business, the projects we worked on, and what we've been able to achieve. In terms of projects, the vast majority of our work this year has been working with other companies on support contracts, helping shore up development teams and helping companies develop their systems. Whilst we have worked on a number of new products and projects this year, the timelines of those projects have unfortunately grown much larger than originally planned for. Fortunately, they are still being worked on, so there should be some exciting announcements when they are ready.

Despite the setbacks, Greenlord has continued to grow over the past year. We welcomed our first new developer, Scott, towards the end of last year. Scott has continued to grow as a developer, and is proving himself to be a fantastic addition to the team with every day that passes. This year, we were fortunate enough to expand further by hiring on our second new developer, Callum. Since bringing him on, Callum has shown himself to be a fantastic developer, and a brilliant fit for the company. We are excited to see how his skills develop in the future.

As well, we also moved into larger offices this year. We are planning ahead, to when our development and non development teams continue to grow. These offices are maybe not getting as much use as they could right now, but it looks promising that we will be able to move back into them fully in the coming months.

So, despite everything, I would say Greenlord Studios has managed pretty well. I am hopeful that next year will be better (as it can't be much worse), and I'm confident that we will continue to grow and continue working on amazing projects.

Thank you for reading, and thank you for continuing to follow us through what has proven to be a tumultuous year. We all wish you the best over the holiday period, and we will be back at work on the 4th January.

Thanks, Greenlord Studios
